How To Make Cannabis E-liquid At Home

Cannabis e-liquids are the stealthiest and fastest way to get stoned. Plus, they taste amazing. Use these instructions to make your own at home! It’s not as difficult as you might think.

Vaping is the new smoking. Okay, some cannabis lovers will always smoke the herb. But some users are ditching tar, carbon monoxide, and carcinogens for a cleaner hit of cannabinoids. Instead of combustion, vaporizers use convection heating, conduction heating, or a combination of both to release cannabinoids and terpenes into an inhalable vapor.

This is easier on the lungs, far more tasty, and a lot more discreet than walking around with a joint. CBD users also appreciate this form of ingestion. Because vaporizing a CBD liquid is much more enjoyable than swallowing a capsule.Vaporizers are available in both desktop and portable models. Vape pens are the stealthiest option and the easiest to carry around. These sleek and futuristic devices can vaporize both herb and extracts, depending on the model. In this article, you’ll learn how to make your own stash of cannabis e-liquid to use with your vape pen.

E-liquid, otherwise known as vape juice, is traditionally a nicotine-containing product. However, cannabis users have put their own spin on things. Both THC and CBD e-liquids (with accompanying terpenes) are available, and feature a base of either propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG).

PG is a colourless and odourless organic compound. It’s not very viscous, which makes things easier when it comes to refilling cartridges and cleaning your device. VG is a completely natural liquid derived from plant oils. It’s also odourless, yet has a slightly sweet taste. It’s much more viscous than PG. It’s not ideal for cleaning, but it produces thick, satisfying clouds of vapor.

Natural and artificial food-grade flavourings are also typically added to create an array of flavours—anything from candy and mint to fruits. E-liquid is then loaded into the tank of an e-cigarette or vaporizer and heated to anywhere between 90–200°C. Devices will need to be set to around 157°C to effectively evaporate THC, whereas CBD requires slightly higher temperatures of between 160–180°C.

Vape pens represent the pinnacle of portability. These sleek devices feature similar technology to desktop vapes, just condensed into a pocket-friendly design. They share an appearance with standard pens and are therefore easy to store and conceal. Vape pens are composed of two main parts: the cartridge, and the battery. Cheaper, disposable vape pens come with pre-filled cartridges. However, more expensive models allow users to refill cartridges with their own product.

Vape pens are ideal for vaporizing high-potency extracts such as THC-enriched e-liquid or distillate. A single hit can provide just as much THC as an entire joint, with much less effort. There’s no need to carry around a container of buds, rolling papers, and a lighter. Just hit the pen and enjoy the ride.

Learning to make your own e-liquid is a worthwhile endeavour. It offers the same level of satisfaction as cooking your own edibles or crafting your own extracts and tinctures. Making e-liquid at home also contributes to peace of mind. You’ll know exactly what you’re inhaling with every hit.

Store-bought e-liquid from unreliable companies can become contaminated in the same way that cannabis flowers can be laden with pesticides. There’s no way to tell exactly what’s inside a formula unless you get it tested at a lab—or simply make it yourself. You’ll also save money if you buy what you need in bulk or grow your own buds.

Take your time to grow and gather the best supplies you can find. By starting out with the best materials possible, you’ll achieve the best outcome. There’s little point in going through the whole process to produce something substandard. Spend some time identifying the ideal source of VG and the best cannabis flowers you can get your hands on. Even better, you can grow your own. Check out these ten amazing strains with high THC levels and unmatched flavours to start you off on the right foot.

Now that you know the benefits of making your own vape juice, let’s get into the nitty-gritty. It’s time to make your own! As with almost anything to do with cannabis, there’s more than one way to skin this cat. Below, we’ll talk you through three of the easiest methods.

Using rosin to make your own vape juice is the cleanest and quickest method. Rosin, by nature, is a low-risk extract. There are no solvents or harsh chemicals used in the process. It’s simply a matter of applying a bit of heat and pressure to extract the resin. You can use buds to make rosin if you have enough resinous flowers to hand. If not, you can press rosin from concentrates such as BHO wax.

  • Dried cannabis flowers
  • Hair straightener(s)
  • Parchment paper
  • Small glass vial
  • Syringe
  • Natural flavouring or terpenes
  • Toothpick
  • Lighter

To begin, select a few plump and resinous buds from your stash and sandwich them in parchment paper. Turn on your hair straighteners and set them to a temperature of around 121°C. If your hair straighteners don’t have this low of a setting, heat them up and unplug them until they become slightly cooler.

Place the wrapped buds between the hair straightener irons and apply significant pressure. Keep applying force as the resin oozes out of the flowers. Release the irons when the goo stops flowing. Unwrap the pressed buds to reveal a fresh patch of rosin. Repeat this process until you’ve made around 0.5g of rosin. You’ll need around 3g of high-quality herb to achieve this amount.

Place the rosin-covered parchment paper into the fridge for around 20 minutes. Remove your cooled bounty and scrape off the rosin using a sturdy toothpick; place it in the glass vial. Add a few drops of your preferred terpenes or flavouring into the jar.

Next, you’ll need to mix your rosin and flavouring into an oil. To do this, you’ll need to flash heat the vial. Hold a flame underneath the container for around five seconds, or until the solution begins to bubble. Any less and the two substances won’t mix. Any more, and you’ll degrade the volatile terpenes. As soon as the mixture starts to bubble, remove the flame and give it a good mix using a toothpick. Then, draw the solution into a syringe and inject it into your vape pen cartridge.

This is another fast method for cannabis users looking for an instant supply of vape juice. It’s a relatively easy method that requires breaking up buds, mixing them with VG, and applying heat.

  • Raw cannabis flowers
  • Food-grade VG
  • Vegetable oil
  • Small Pyrex dish
  • Large Pyrex dish
  • Glass jar x2
  • Stove
  • Thermometer x2
  • Sieve
  • Cheesecloth
  • Rubber spatula
  • Metal spoon

It’s time to get sticky. Tear apart your flowers with your bare hands and place the small pieces into a small Pyrex dish. Pour a small amount of VG into the dish and stir. Keep adding small amounts until the pieces are saturated, without the mixture becoming too thin.

Pour the vegetable oil into the large Pyrex dish—enough to submerge the bottom inch of the small Pyrex dish. Place the oil on the stove or a hot plate and place the thermometer sensor inside. Heat the mixture up to a temperature of 104°C.

Place the small Pyrex dish into the hot oil bath and insert the second thermometer into the mix of VG and broken-down buds. The aim is to heat the solution to around 82°C to allow the cannabinoids to diffuse into the VG. Maintain this temperature for 45 minutes and stir the mixture frequently.

Remove the small Pyrex dish from the oil bath and let it cool for several minutes. Next, place a sieve over a glass jar to strain the mixture. Use a spatula to press the bud against the sieve to extract as much liquid as possible. Repeat steps two and three a total of two times to extract as much THC as possible, using fresh VG each time.

Now that you’ve collected three runs in the glass jar, it’s time to purify your vape juice. Clean and dry your sieve; place it over a clean glass jar and add around four layers of cheesecloth. Pour your vape juice onto the cheesecloth and watch it filter through into the jar. Use the spatula to squeeze out any residue.

Add your purified vape juice back into the small Pyrex dish. Heat up the oil bath and place the small Pyrex dish inside. Insert your thermometer and heat up the vape juice to exactly 104°C for 30 minutes. This will convert precursor cannabinoid THCA into psychoactive THC via decarboxylation.

You’re all done! Use a dropper bottle or syringe to load up your vape pen cartridge with clean and potent vape juice!

Patient weed lovers are rare animals, indeed. If you happen to be one, this simple method is for you. It doesn’t use high temperatures. Instead, a long period of time allows the cannabinoids to diffuse into the mixture.

  • Cannabis buds
  • Food-grade VG
  • Heat safe Pyrex bowl
  • Aluminium foil
  • Baking tray
  • Oven
  • Mason jar x2
  • Metal spoon
  • Sieve
  • Rubber spatula
  • Cheesecloth
  • Freezer

Break up your flowers into small chunks using your hands or a pair of scissors. Avoid grinding them. If the pieces are too fine, they’ll make it through the filtration process.

Line a baking tray with aluminium foil and spread your plant material evenly over the surface. Preheat the oven to 121°C. Place your buds inside to decarboxylate for 30 minutes. Remove them and allow to cool.

Place your buds into a mason jar. Add a small amount of VG and stir. Keep adding VG until the mixture is clumpy and thick. Stop before the mixture becomes too liquidy and thin. Screw the lid on, label with the date, and store for one month (we told you it’d take a while).

After one month, remove the lid and stir the mixture well. Add a tablespoon of VG, stir again, and return to storage for another month. Repeat this process again one month later.

At the end of the third month, stir the mixture and strain through a sieve into another mason jar. Use the spatula to assist the process. Clean the sieve and original jar. Line the sieve with four layers of cheesecloth and strain the vape juice back into the original jar. Press out any residue with the spatula.

Use a syringe to add your vape juice into a cartridge—enjoy!

Vaping e-liquids isn’t limited to getting stoned. Medicinal and recreational users can also vape them to enjoy the clear-headed and relaxing effects of CBD. CBD e-liquid is non-psychotropic, elevates the mood, and calms the nerves. It’s great before public speaking, meetings, social gatherings, or sleep. You can also purchase pre-made CBD e-liquid if you don’t fancy making your own.

Making e-liquids at home is easy, but it isn’t without risk. Working with hot oil can be extremely dangerous, so handle with care. Also, you must ensure that all of the ingredients you use are food-grade and certified. There’s a lot of dodgy products out there, so do your research and shop with care. If you use common sense and take the right safety precautions, you’ll have your own stash of vape juice in no time.

Cannabis e-liquids provide a potent hit of cannabinoids in the form of smooth, clean vapor. Use these methods to easily make your own weed e-liquid at home.

Guide To Making The Ultimate Cannabis E-Liquid (Updated)

Last Updated on 12th November 2020

March 2019 Note: This guide is the simple version, there is an advanced method I’ve outlined in my post here . The latest guide results in an even more potent product so I highly recommend giving it a go once you’ve mastered the simple method!

Due to its convenience and discreetness, vaping cannabis e-liquid has become wildly popular in recent months, with all kinds of people (celebrities included!) getting on board. A little while ago, I published my original DIY THC e-liquid guide, and since then it has received much fanfare (I’ve had several e-mails from readers telling me that they’ve had great results using this method!). Although this process is a great way to make your own cannabis e-liquid, I’ve discovered a more advanced process in which to extract THC into THC liquid, and thought I’d share my recipe here with you guys! Using this method to make cannabis e-liquid results in a more efficient extraction of the active chemicals in your bud, and the result is a more potent e-liquid. However, because this method involves heating alcohol, make sure that you follow the guide properly and keep your workspace well ventilated. I am not responsible for any mishaps that may arise from following this guide, so please use caution and proceed with care!

What You’ll Need
  1. EJMix
  2. 6 grams of good quality cannabis (you can use more or less, but this is what I find works well for me). I imagine you can also use a lot of shake and trimmings, but I’ve only tested with bud.
  3. High proof grain alcohol (such as Everclear or Alcool). Do Not use Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol)!
  4. 2 mason jars
  5. Pack of 5ml dropper bottles
  6. Cheese Cloth
  7. Baking sheet, aluminum foil, and an oven
  8. Cooking pot
The Guide

Decarboxylation is an important step so don’t skip it!

The first step is to decarboxylate your cannabis. Decarboxylation is necessary in order convert the THC-A in fresh cannabis to THC (a process that normally happens through combustion or vaporization), and because e-liquid vaporization temperatures may not get hot enough to do this, decarboxylation is a good idea. Place some aluminum foil on a baking sheet and then spread your freshly ground bud (the finer the better) evenly on the foil. Next, place it in the oven for at 225-250F for 15 minutes. After this your bud should be pretty dry (and possibly a little brown).

The next step is to take your decarboxylated bud, place it in a mason jar, and then add some high proof everclear until your bud is just a little bit more than covered by the alcohol (don’t put a top on the jar). Next, fill a pot with about 1.5 inches (3.8cm) of water, and place the mason jar in the pot. This creates a double boil which prevents you from overheating the alcohol (which is highly flammable!). Next, turn on your stove vent (and maybe open a window for good measure) so that your stove is well ventilated for the next step.

In this step, you want to boil off some of the alcohol while continually stirring your cannabis. While you do this, you’re cooking the bud and the alcohol soaks up THC and other psychoactive compounds. Boil-off just enough alcohol so that your bud is still submerged, but not to excess. The liquid should get fairly dark as the alcohol absorbs the active ingredients, and the more bud you use in the recipe, the darker the liquid should turn.

Make sure to use some good bud; how to make marijuana e juice

After you’ve boiled off some of the alcohol, add more to your jar (enough to return it to its original level or even a bit higher). Now you want to filter your product, so grab some cheese cloth and cover your second jar with it. Then pour your mixture into the second jar, and make sure to squeeze as much alcohol as you can out of the bud. Reboil some water with the new jar in it, but make sure not to create a big difference in temperature between the glass jar and water or you risk cracking it! Now boil off the everclear a second time, this time taking it down to about 5ml of liquid (use a syringe to measure how much you have left in the jar).

The V2 Pro Series 3 can vape e-liquids. The EvoD also works well with the proper cartridge.

Finally, add the propylene glycol (PG) to your mix. I added about 20ml to bring the total volume of my mix to 25ml, which is somewhere around 6 grams of cannabis condensed into 25ml of e-liquid. The liquid should end up a dark greenish brown color, and you can dilute it with more PG (or even food grade vegetable glycerin if you prefer that). Finally, you have the choice of either continuing to heat the mix to get rid of the remaining everclear, or filter it again and give it a try. Some people like to skip this step as they like how the alcohol thins out the PG, giving a better flavor to the mix.

This process is a little more intensive than my other guide, and I only recommend performing it if you have access to a well ventilated kitchen and are experienced with these types of extractions. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me and let me know.

Updated Method For Making THC E Juice – May 2019

How To Make THC E Juice

If you are looking for a discrete way to take cannabis, try THC E-Juice. This read will guide you through making your own THC e juice at home for vaporising. We will explore the best way to use a regular liquid pen or an e-cig to consume cannabis in intricate details.

Feel this is a daunting task? Finding out how to make thc vape juice is easier than you think.

Vaping is one of the best ways to consume cannabis, a plant that we have grown fond of and come to love. Vaping allows you to use much less product while getting the full effects but it also negates getting the tell-tale smell of cannabis.

While east cannabis-infused cookies, brownies, and fudge are another as effective as vaping, edible take much longer before you experience the THC kick. This is because edibles have to go through the digestive system. On the other hand, taking wax or shatter requires you to have complex and often times bulky rig or vaporizer. However, with E-Juice, you just need a quality liquid pen vaporizer and you are good to go. If none of this interests you, you should check out our magnificent range of CBD tinctures.

That’s right! The pen you use to blow clouds is very effective in smoking cannabis (or should I say, cannabinoids extracted from the cannabis plant). The “E” in the THC E-Juice shows that the juice can be vaporized by an electronic device, which in this case is a liquid vaporizer or e-cig.

If you are sold on this kind of cannabis consumption, you can buy single dose cartridges at WoahStork. However, if you are looking for a DIY approach and save some money, you can make your own cannabis-infused juice or THC vape juice uk quite easily. Is a very simple process and you can use simple tools that you already have. And once you get the hang of it, you will enjoy making your own e-juices that offer all benefits of CBD.

Do Not Overlook The Dosage Of The THC You Use

It is very important to understand the dosage of THC of the e-juice you make. You need to strike a balance with your THC dosage; do not make your dosage too weak or too strong.

You will make the e-juice using shatter or wax. If you are purchasing your shatter or wax from a dispensary, there should be dosage information right on the package. However, if you are sourcing your wax or shatter from another source, you should ask for the THC concentration. Generally, the vast majority of solvent derived hash oils will have a concentration ranging from 60% to 90%.

To understand dosage, if you have a globe of wax weighing one gram and it has 85% THC, the dose measure is 850mg of THC.

It is important to note that the recommended starting dose for edibles for novices is a mere 5% to 10% (5 to 10mg). Dabs being an effective delivery cannabis method require much lower concentration. As such, THC E-Juices and dabs are not for beginners.

The THC E-Juice Recipe You Will Like

This guide is designed to help the THC E-Juice making newbies. As such, we will cover the e-juice making process right from the very start, later on covering the infusion process.

– Empty plastic unicorn tip bottles or glass dropper bottles, preferably with childproof caps,
– Latex gloves,
– Blunt tip syringes for precise and accurate measurements,
– Vegetable glycerine (also known as VG), and propylene glycol (also known as PG). These products are FDA approved and they are already used in a wide variety of foods we eat.

You use VG and PG to make your base – the liquid you have before you add any flavouring and or nicotine. It can be anywhere from as high as 80/20 to as low as 50/50 VG to PG. Ensure you stay in this range for safety purposes.

After creating the base, the next step is to add flavour and infuse herbs as needed into the base for the desired concentration and taste. There are various ways you can go about the steeping process. However, the easiest approach is to cap the e-juice in bottles and let them sit in a dark room for several days.

THC E-Juice Infusion

With the basics of the basic process of creating your own e-juice in mind, let us delve into the process of infusing THC into the base using shatter or wax. If you are interested in creating your THC E-Juice from buds, you will have to learn a much more involving and longer process. For starters, you will need to extract the THC from raw plant materials. Get information on how to do this from this post.

The steps given below will assume you have already extracted THC or you have purchased concentrates.

Making homemade rosin is as easy as placing buds in wax paper and applying pressure and heat. You can even use a simple tool such as a hair straightener.

1 gram of hash oil (shatter, wax, or rosin are good options) [available on WoahStork]
A bottle of the e-juice mix of VG and PG that suits your taste

Get a ceramic bowl and flatten your shatter, wax or other hash oil extracts. Cover the shatter or wax with wax paper to ensure it does not stick to the spoon.

Thereafter, you should melt your wax. There are two ways of going about it. You can place the bowl with the shatter, wax, or hash oil in warm water until it melts. Alternatively, you can use the microwave to melt the concrete. Using the “defrost” setting, heat the concentrate for a minute.

Add drops of your VG/PG mix to the wax. Start by adding about 30 to 40 drops. Stir for a minute or until the VG/PG mix and wax incorporate completely.

Let your concoction cool completely. The mixture should have the consistency of honey. However, if it is too thick, you can add some more VG/PG mix. First, warm the mixture again and then add a few more drops until you get a consistency you like.

Add your THC-infused vaping e-juice in your vape pen or liquid vaporizer and enjoy it!

These are the steps you follow when creating your own THC E-Juice. Naturally, when you vape, the vapour will have the distant smell of cannabis. However, it will not be as concentrated as is the case when you smoke a joint.

Whether you start from making your own hash oil using finely ground buds, or you use wax or shatter, you can use your vape pen or mod for cannabis consumption.
