Strains Of The Rainbow: Cannabis In Living Color

Cannabis has a rich, colorful history – and in 2016, the actual plant, as well, has a wider color palette than ever before. Forget Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain, Roy G. Biv or whatever other acronym you learned as a kid to help you remember the colors of the rainbow. Now, there’s a strain in every hue: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Here’s our rundown of the spectrum.

Red Haze

Red Haze is a powerful sativa with a very cerebral, light-headed, long-lasting high. Use strictly as a daytime strain: effects can be similar to drinking a cup of coffee.

Agent Orange

Agent Orange is a balanced hybrid combining smooth Orange Velvet with killer-strength Jack the Ripper: buds flecked with purple and deep maroon visually offset with olfactory notes of fresh-cut orange. Uplifting and motivating effects make Agent Orange a superlative mood enhancer.

Lemon Haze

Lemon Haze is redolent of fresh-peeled lemon slices, with a sharp taste of citrus. The buds are greenish-yellow with amber hairs on the trichomes: THC content has been measured at 15-20% with a CBD of 0.38%.

Marijuana has a rich, colourful history – and in 2016, the actual plant has a wider color palette than ever before.

About this Hybrid Strain

Rainbow is a cannabis strain that’s normally a well-balanced (sometimes indica-dominant) hybrid. It emits a scent reminiscent of blueberries and tropical citrus with a flavor that’s similar but spicy.

When ready for harvest, its buds are several colorful hues of blue and purple with bright orangey yellow pistils, thus its name.

THC levels have been known to reach up to 22%. Its high will cause the munchies, so snacks should be close at hand. It will uplift the spirits, relax both the body and mind, and create a sense of euphoria. Minor aches and pains throughout the muscles will subside being replaced with a slight tingling numbness. Many reviewers note this strain’s ability to induce fits of the giggles.

Negatives of consuming this strain include your normal dry mouth and eyes, along with dizziness, paranoia, or anxiousness when higher doses are consumed.

It takes between eight and nine weeks for Rainbow to fully flower.
